Lets talk purpose and passion friends.
Do you all ever wonder or think to yourself if what your doing is your life purpose? Some questions to ponder…Do you think its important to do something your passionate about?
I was recently having a conversation with a customer about purpose and passion. This customer stated that they wished they would have done something they were passionate about earlier on in life. This person is of retirement age and stated working in an office position for her whole career. Lets be clear there is nothing wrong with working in an office however she felt it wasn’t something she was passionate about. Now her friend and her of 40 years started a business and love what they’re doing.
Another question to ponder… Do you think its possible to go to work everyday and that not necessarily be your passion or purposeful gift? I heard a sermon once that talked about this concept. Having a purpose or God given gift does not have to be where you go to work daily it could be something you do on the weekends such as volunteering. Maybe you go on mission trips, help out with the local kids clubs or maybe you have artistic gifts and love making pottery.
Each of us are given gifts that are unique to us. This sounds cliche I know but truly think about this one. What is it that you have always felt that nudge that you were supposed to be doing? One thing that often stands in the way is fear.
Fear. Yes I said it fear. Fear is a funny little thing that is anxiety holding you back from experiencing life. Often times due to fear people stay in their comfort zone and never try anything new, follow their passion, be purposeful because its scary. But you know what? You will never grow, never learn, never experience life or new things in your comfort zone.
I have taken for granted the idea that I have always done what I am passionate about. Being a nurse specializing in palliative care seeing people and connecting with them in their most vulnerable states. Contrary to that I love selling Print Remedy and spreading positive messages and uplifting others. Lets be honest deciding to start Print Remedy was not easy. With a full time job already and 2 small children and a spouse that runs his own business, there was nothing easy about starting Print Remedy. Friends I had a nudge for several years that I could be doing more, more with our gifts of screen printing and embroidery to give back. There have been many challenges and it has been scary but when you are doing things that you know in your heart are for the good of others everything works out. My hope for all of you is that you think about what that nudge is telling you. Its not too late to start whatever it is your feeling is your life purpose.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this and we would love seeing your comments about what your doing and what your passion is.
